Cal State teachers: Reward with no risk

The California State University system's teachers union has found a way to make a bad situation worse: threaten to go on strike. A superficial analysis of the threatened strike might conclude it's all about whether the 25 percent pay raise over three years offered to teachers is fair. The real issue is more fundamental. A fundamentally flawed system that forcibly takes people's money to provide other people education might be expected to bear bad fruit. Californians may be about to reap the latest harvest in the union-authorized strike, pending action Sunday by the CSU Board of Trustees.
