Northwest teachers could walk off job

Members of the Northwest teachers' union will vote this week whether to authorize a 10-day strike at the discretion of their bargaining team. The Northwest Association of Educators is negotiating the teachers' master contract with the Northwest Local School District. NAE president Phyllis Bell said teachers are tired of waiting for raises, and want language concessions that would improve working conditions for teachers. She said her union represents about 500 teachers.
