West Shore teachers authorize strike

The teachers of the West Shore School District have voted to authorize a strike should negotiations fail to yield a new contract. The vote, taken yesterday during a meeting of the West Shore Education Association, does not mean a strike is imminent. The earliest a strike could take place would be late May, said Myra Reichart of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, who is serving as spokesperson for the local union.
