Teamsters strike Freightliner in Oregon

Hundreds of employees at one of Oregon's biggest employers went on strike as of midnight Tuesday. The machinists union at Freightliner, a truck manufacturing company, went on strike after being unable to negotiate new contracts. While other Teamsters and unions affiliated with the company have come to agreements about their own contracts, they are refusing to cross the picket line. Earlier this year, Freightliner announced it would be moving about half its Portland operation to plants in Mexico.
